I was contacted via social media to photograph a 50th Wedding Anniversary. As I already knew the couple I was even more excited, and slightly more nervous that they would like my work.
The entire event was full of laughter, reminiscing and a love so strong it left me feeling so happy, and loved myself. Even though I was there to do a job, I felt like I was a guest in many ways.
The lovely Italian family were all so warm and it was an absolute pleasure to shoot.
Technically now, for the majority of the shoot I was battling light. There are no windows in the Function Room, so therefore no natural light, which is my absolute favourite to work with. (Much like many photographers.) I decided to switch to my prime 50mm lens, which helped a great deal in the low light situation, and also gave a lot of the photos a more shallow depth of field. This allowed more emotion of the guests shine through too.
All in all, a great shoot, and a fantastic opportunity for me to develop more as a photographer - pun intended!!
