If you follow me on social media, Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen the following image. Baby Elden modelling for me on a shelf of teddy bears.
I had this image in my mind, and I had been wanting to try it out for a long time, and I have a great friend who allows my creativity to take place. I think it's important though that I create a short blog to show how it was created safely, to ensure that there are no misconceptions about the image.
Getting Elden all ready for the shot..... ensuring he's comfortable, happy, safe and in the right position for the photo keeping in mind light direction and the digital background I am wanting to use later.
Creating the image..... here I am (I much prefer being behind the camera, but for the purpose of this blog I'll share), on top of a step ladder, camera strap always around my neck safely (my camera is really quite heavy so this is a must), taking some photos and trying to capture perfectly his gorgeous, cheeky little smile.
After I have gotten the shot, we recreate again in a different outfit for two different looks, I also changed the blanket underneath as I wasn't sure which would be the easiest to edit off, and I head home to edit. These shots were easily created in the comfort of Elden's home. And a special thanks to Elden's mummy for capturing these behind the scenes pics for me.
Below is the SOOC (straight out of camera) image. The photo I chose for the final edit, gorgeous little grin (but to be honest I had my pick of those...) cuddling his teddy nicely, and his feet looked as though they could be hanging off a shelf.
In Photoshop, I then cut around Elden nice and close and then all I need to do is adjust the warmth to match the shelf digital background I have ...
..... and place him in it. I also created some shadow in the same direction as the teddy bear's that are already in the image for the final touch.
And there you have it. Both images were created the same way. Safely and comfortably for Elden and result in something truly unique and gorgeous to have as a memory for years to come.
This is an image that can be created from newborn baby to a sitter. If you are interested in creating something similar or seeing what other unique baby images I offer, send me a message.
Til next time, Bec.
